Currently, stores are selling a variety of ingredients and tools for making moon cakes. The price of premixed dough for making the cake crust ranges from 85,000-100,000 VND/kg, and premixed mixed fillings ranges from 185,000-228,000 VND/kg. Some types of pureed fillings such as mung beans, red beans, green tea, coffee, and blueberries range from 80,000-150,000 VND/kg. These prices have increased by 10,000-20,000 VND/kg compared to last year. Some other ingredients such as lotus jam cost 120,000 VND/kg, an increase of 20,000 VND/kg; pumpkin jam costs 52,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg.
This year, in addition to some popular fillings, there are also liquid fillings such as: liquid salted egg, liquid chocolate. Liquid fillings are much more expensive, ranging from 200,000-210,000 VND/kg.
Mooncake making tools such as rolling pins cost 40,000 VND/piece, and cake molds range from 70,000-140,000 VND/piece depending on the type.
