The maintenance cost of Mr. Hoang Kim Khanh's Koenigsegg Regera is almost equal to the purchase price of a new Lexus LX 600.
The Koenigsegg Regera was once spotted on the streets of Hanoi.
On his personal Facebook, tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh shared the cost of car maintenance after visiting the Koenigsegg Factory in Sweden and seeing the Regera again after more than a year.
Notably, the supercar has been upgraded and repaired in 620 items. The total cost is up to nearly 365,627 USD (equivalent to nearly 8.9 billion VND). Among these, many items are related to the electrical system.
The cost of maintenance and repair of the supercar is estimated to be nearly 9 billion VND.
Tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh also revealed that the car worth about 200 billion VND has been updated with the latest technology from the Swedish manufacturer.
"The nearly 200 billion VND supercar was upgraded and upgraded to a new version, costing me nearly 9 billion VND. But if you want it to be beautiful and unique, you have to spend a lot of money. During the trip, the family of tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh was welcomed by Christian von Koenigsegg, founder and CEO of Koenigsegg. The Vietnamese flag was also hung at the factory in Ängelholm, Sweden to welcome this businessman.
As for the Koenigsegg Regera, the last time the supercar was seen publicly on the streets of Vietnam was in June 2022, when it participated in the Hanoi - Ha Long - Hai Duong supercar journey personally organized by Hoang Kim Khanh.
Since then, the car has not been back on the streets. It is known that the million-dollar supercar broke down while traveling on the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway. At that time, the tycoon from Hai Duong quickly brought the car back to Ho Chi Minh City for repairs.
However, two Koenigsegg engineers who came to Vietnam to "treat" the Regera were "helpless". Therefore, tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh decided to bring the Koenigsegg Regera back to the factory in Sweden for maintenance and repair.
Koenigsegg Regera was imported to Vietnam in January 2022. Purchased from a showroom in Illinois, USA, it is currently the most expensive supercar in Vietnam, estimated to be worth around 200 billion VND. Only 80 Regeras were produced with a starting price of around 1.9 million USD.
The Koenigsegg Regera is equipped with a 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a capacity of 1,100 horsepower, along with 3 electric motors pushing the total capacity to 1,500 horsepower. The car is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 400km/h.
The Swedish supercar does not use a traditional gearbox, but rather the Koenigsegg Direct Drive direct transmission system, which reduces energy loss and accelerates faster and smoother when driving on the highway.
