Proposal to invest nearly 11.3 billion VND to build a canal to develop the rice-worm model

The information is stated in the report of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee on the proposal to decide on the investment policy for the Project of building a canal, canal bank road combined with the approach road to Soi bridge, An Thanh commune (Tu Ky), presented at the 14th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council held on the afternoon of May 9.

This is a Group C project proposed for investment by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong. The project aims to build a canal, a canal bank combined with a Soi bridge access road, complete the local irrigation system, improve the capacity of irrigation water for agricultural production, connect traffic in the concentrated production area, contribute to the development of the model of raising earthworms and clams combined with organic rice cultivation, and increase income for people.

Regarding the scale of investment, construction of the canal route, canal bank combined with the approach road to Soi bridge from the connection point with the embankment at the head of Soi bridge to the intersection of Quan bridge with a total length of about 658 m.

The total investment of the project is expected to be nearly 11.3 billion VND from the provincial budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025. The project implementation period is in the period 2022-2023.

Reviewing the submission, the Economic - Budget Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council said that the project has been determined to be consistent with the construction planning of Tu Ky district. The communes in the project area have made a written commitment to self-clear the site and hand over the construction site according to the required schedule. The Committee proposed that the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council decide on the investment policy according to the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee and adjust the project implementation period from "in the period of 2022-2023" to "in the period of 2023-2024".
