Hai Duong Provincial People's Council has approved the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units, establishing 64 new communes and wards.

It is expected that 4 new communes after the merger in Kim Thanh will have a commune named An Thanh.

Kim Thanh district agreed on the proposed naming plan for the four new communes after the merger: Lai Khe, Phu Thai, Kim Thanh and An Thanh.
