Seeing everyone busy cleaning up the wedding venue, while he himself was running around cleaning the house because of storm number 3 (storm Yagi) making landfall, Nguyen Anh Tuan (Hai Duong) felt both sad and disappointed.
According to the plan, at 3pm today, September 7, Nguyen Anh Tuan (born in 1996, in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong) will go to the bride's house to hold the engagement ceremony. However, 20 minutes before, he was still wearing a T-shirt, shorts, boots, and was soaked from the storm.
Four months ago, Tuan and his bride Vu Thi Lan (born in 2003, both living in Chi Linh City) and both families chose a good wedding date: September 7 and 8.
A few days ago, when he heard that super typhoon Yagi was making landfall in the North, Tuan was worried and anxious. Because he had prepared everything from inviting guests, renting a tent, booking a banquet, to renting a wedding dress,... Tuan and his family still planned to hold the wedding on the right date.
Unexpectedly, this afternoon, a storm and whirlwind came, the wedding tent could not stand. Tuan's family decided to close the tent, dismantle the wedding gate and clean everything.
“Previously, my family planned to host 40 wedding banquets at home this afternoon, then invite guests to a nearby restaurant tomorrow morning for a wedding announcement party. But the storm hit, so my family had to close the wedding tent and invite guests to the restaurant this afternoon.
The plan was to host 40 tables but in reality there were only 12 tables because of the rain and wind, not all guests could attend," Tuan shared.
As planned, on the afternoon of September 7, Tuan and 30 relatives and friends went to the bride's house to hold the engagement ceremony. However, due to the storm, the number of people was reduced to 7 members.
“Natural disasters are unpredictable, so we can only do things perfunctorily, hoping that nothing bad happens. My friends who flew back to Vietnam from abroad to attend the wedding ended up not being able to dress up and enjoy the feast, but instead had to roll up their clothes to help me set up the tent,” Tuan said sadly.
Luckily, the restaurant supported Tuan's family so they did not suffer much in terms of the wedding feast. "The restaurant will support as much as possible. At this point, our family does not care about money, as long as the wedding goes smoothly and everyone is safe," Tuan said.
The groom from Hai Duong confided that he and his wife cried a lot when the wedding could not be held in full due to the storm. With encouragement from both families, the young couple was able to calm down a bit.
“Our parents encouraged us to try our best. The wedding is just one part, the most important thing is to love each other and build a happy home together,” Tuan shared.
In the luxury car where the bride's family held the engagement ceremony, Tuan still hoped that the storm would gradually subside tomorrow so that the main wedding ceremony could take place smoothly.
