Travel platform Booking.com has announced the winners of its 2023 Traveller Review Awards and the world’s most hospitable destinations, based on 240 million verified traveler reviews. To be recognized, properties must have an average review score of 8.0 out of 10.
In the category of 10 friendliest cities in Vietnam 2023, coastal cities are still the most popular with 6 destinations possessing famous beaches. Topping this list is Phong Nha, followed by Ninh Binh, Hoi An, Hue, Mai Chau, Tuy Hoa, Con Dao, Dong Hoi, Cat Ba, Sa Pa. This is also the first time Cat Ba (Cat Hai district, Hai Phong) has been honored in this category, replacing Mui Ne in the 2022 rankings.

According to Booking.com, friendly and open staff is the key to tourist satisfaction. Specifically, when evaluating the level of satisfaction with accommodation, Vietnamese tourists gave the highest score to friendly staff (8.9), followed by comfort (8.7), cleanliness (8.7), location (8.7). The value received from spending at the accommodation (8.6) continued to rise in the tourist's scale of interest, along with the accompanying services provided by the accommodation (8.5).
