Severe weather warnings in place from now until October 10 nationwide

On the afternoon of September 11, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from now until October 10, 2023, dangerous weather phenomena such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and hail are forecast to continue to occur nationwide, which could affect production and people's activities.

During the forecast period, the average temperature in the Northern and Central regions will generally be 0.5-1 degree Celsius higher than the average of many years in the same period, and higher in some places; the Central Highlands and Southern regions will generally be about 0.5 degree Celsius higher than the average of many years in the same period.

Also during the above period, the total rainfall forecast in the Northern and North Central regions is generally approximately 10-30% higher, in some places higher; in other places, it is generally approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period.

Regarding dangerous weather phenomena, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that from now until October 10, there will be a possibility of 1-2 storms or tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea, which may affect the Northern and Central regions.

“During this period, the tropical convergence zone continues to operate and is likely to form tropical depressions and storms in the East Sea, combined with the strong southwest monsoon, which will cause strong winds and large waves in the waters of the East Sea; thereby affecting maritime activities and fishing at sea of ​​fishermen,” a representative of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned.

In mid-September 2023, heat waves in the Central region are forecast to continue (although they will decrease in intensity and scope) and may affect outdoor work activities as well as the risk of fire and explosion.

Regarding the rain trend, during the forecast period from now until October 10, there is a possibility of heavy rain across the country, but it is unlikely to last long.
