Luxury car collection of Indian billionaire brings 4,500 employees to Vietnam for tourism

According to India Times, Mr. Dilip Sanghvi is the founder and CEO of Sun Pharmaceuticals, India's largest pharmaceutical company and currently holds the position of the 5th richest person in this country. Forbes statistics that with assets worth 29.5 billion USD, Mr. Dilip became the 13th billionaire in Asia and the 59th in the world.

Not only successful in business, Mr. Dilip Shanghvi is also famous for his lavish lifestyle and his hobby of collecting luxury cars. In the garage of this Indian billionaire, there are many models of supercars and expensive luxury cars from many high-end brands such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes, Audi and BMW.

Rolls Royce Ghost Series II

The white Rolls Royce Ghost is the most expensive super luxury car in the garage of Indian billionaire Dilip Shanghvi. The price of this super luxury sedan in India is more than 60 million Rupees (nearly 18 billion VND).

The Rolls-Royce Ghost owned by Mr. Dilip Shanghvi belongs to the second generation of this car line. The Rolls Royce Ghost Series II uses a 6.75L twin-turbocharged V12 engine shared with the Phantom VIII model, producing 568 horsepower, 780 Nm of torque combined with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Bentley Mulsanne

In addition to the Rolls Royce Ghost Series II, the Indian billionaire also owns another super luxury car, the Bentley Mulsanne, which costs more than 50 million Rupees (more than 14.8 billion VND). The Mulsanne is a large luxury car designed and manufactured by Bentley, directly competing with the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The Bentley Mulsanne is equipped with a 6.75L twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a capacity of 505 horsepower, 1,020 Nm of torque and an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. However, this supercar model was discontinued in June 2020 due to its inability to meet increasingly stringent emission standards in Europe. Currently, the 3rd generation Flying Spur will succeed the Mulsanne as Bentley's flagship model.

Audi A8

Slightly lower in class than the two names from the British luxury car brand, this Indian billionaire also owns another large luxury sedan, the Audi A8, which costs more than 15 million Rupees (nearly 4.5 billion VND).

This is the latest upgraded version of the 4th generation Audi A8 launched in 2022. When launched in 2017, the Audi A8 had two engine options including a 3.0L V6 petrol engine (55 TFSI quattro) with a capacity of 335 horsepower and a 3.0L V6 diesel engine (50 TDI quattro) with a capacity of 282 horsepower.

All are equipped with quattro all-wheel drive and an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version with a 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine combined with an electric motor (60 TFSI e quattro) was added in 2019.

BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLS

Not only collecting expensive sedans, Mr. Dilip Shanghvi is also very fond of powerful SUVs, as evidenced by the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLS duo both present in the Indian billionaire's garage.

According to India Times, both of these models in India are over 10 million Rupees (nearly 3 billion VND) and are the latest versions. In which, BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury SUV upgraded in 2023 with many details such as the grille, front bumper, headlights and taillights are completely redesigned.

The BMW X5 has turbocharged gasoline engine options ranging from a 261-horsepower 2.0-liter I4, a 335-horsepower 3.0-liter I6, and a 456-horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. In addition to the standard gasoline variants, in 2019, BMW launched the 483-horsepower X5 xDrive45e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. All come with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

The GLS is the third generation of the large luxury SUV from Mercedes-Benz. It was launched in 2019 and has not received any updates to date. Notably, the GLS is the first Mercedes-Benz SUV to feature three rows of fully electrically adjustable seats.

Mercedes-Benz GLS has 3 engine options including 3.0L twin-turbo V6 gasoline with 362 horsepower, 4.0L twin-turbo V8 with power ranging from 483-550 horsepower and 3.0L mild-hybrid diesel I6 with 282-326 horsepower.
