The online community is racing to share the photo series "The most prestigious muses in the village" capturing extremely adorable moments of 3 U100 grandmothers in Phu Tho.
In the photo series, the old ladies wear velvet crowns, simple clothes, holding lilies, sitting next to each other, smiling comfortably, showing off their black teeth from the habit of chewing betel. The way the three old friends pose together is just as playful as a group of young people.
The three elders are Dao Thi Nguyen, 94 years old (in yellow shirt, in the middle of the photo above) and her younger sister Dao Thi Chi, 90 years old (in pink shirt on the left), and Bui Thi Ngo, 90 years old (in purple shirt on the right). All three elders are living in Dan Quyen commune, Tam Nong district, Phu Tho province.
Ms. Le Thu Phuong, Mrs. Nguyen's granddaughter, who posted this photo series on social media, said that she grew up with the stories her grandmother told, so she felt it was her responsibility to cherish and preserve her grandmother's everyday moments.
In the beginning, the old ladies were still shy about taking pictures because: "We are all old and toothless, it's very bad to take pictures". However, after listening to Phuong's explanation, they let their granddaughter take the picture. Gradually, when they got used to the camera lens and became more confident, now when they see Phuong holding up the camera, the old ladies raise two fingers and say "hi" very naturally.
"I often post pictures of my grandmother and my sisters on social media. With each post, my friends affectionately call them muses. After posting many times, the muses also have many fans. Everyone always admires their friendship and wishes them good health," Ms. Phuong shared.
The U100 "muses" live near each other, so they meet and chat almost every day. If they don't see each other, they complain: "I miss you so much today!". They get along very well and confide in each other about everything, from family to neighborhood matters, which is why everyone gave them the nickname "the most prestigious rice-powered camera cluster in the neighborhood".
All three grandmothers are very healthy and still help their children and grandchildren with many tasks. Ms. Phuong said: "My grandmother is 94 years old but still chops wood regularly. She does everything very quickly, sometimes she doesn't want her children and grandchildren to do anything, telling her to do it quickly."
Just a few hours after posting, the photo series of the "muse group" received thousands of likes, hundreds of shares and comments full of love and admiration: "Blessed are the muse group. You are so cute, I wish you always be healthy and happy like this"; "I hope I can be as old as you when I get old, you look so happy"; "Looking at the photos makes me miss my paternal and maternal grandmothers so much. My two grandmothers also lived a long life. I wish you all good health and happiness every day"...
Many young women after seeing this photo series tagged their close friends with emotional comments, hoping that when they grow old they can also have fun together like the elderly.
