Storm No. 9 weakens into a tropical depression, likely to dissipate at sea

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the evening of November 19, storm No. 9 (storm Man-yi) weakened into a tropical depression.

At 1:00 a.m. this morning, November 20, the center of the tropical depression was at about 17.7 degrees North latitude, 111.3 degrees East longitude, in the sea northwest of Hoang Sa archipelago.

The low pressure is moving southwest at a speed of about 20km/h. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6 (39-49km/h), gusting to level 8.

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the tropical depression will move southwest at a speed of about 20km/h and continue to weaken into a low pressure area in the sea off the Central Central Coast and is likely to dissipate at sea.

Remnants from storm No. 9 combined with strengthening cold air are forecast to cause a prolonged period of heavy rain in the central provinces from November 21 to 25.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, November 20, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, there will be rain in some places; in the Northeast, there will be no rain at night and sunny during the day. It will be cold at night and early morning.

Cloudy, some rain at night, sunny during the day. Light wind. Cold at night and early morning. Lowest temperature 18-21 degrees, some places below 17 degrees; highest 26-29 degrees, some places below 26 degrees.

Northeast

Few clouds, no rain at night, sunny during the day. Northeast wind level 2-3. Cold at night and early morning. Lowest temperature 18-21 degrees, some places in mountainous areas below 18 degrees; highest temperature 27-30 degrees, some places in mountainous areas below 27 degrees.

Hai Duong

Partly cloudy, no rain at night, sunny during the day, northeast wind level 2-3. Cold at night and early morning, temperature ranges from 19-30 degrees.
