The 36 teams participating in the C1 Cup are divided into 4 groups. Each team will draw lots to play against 8 random opponents from all 4 groups (2 teams in each group).
After 8 rounds, teams are ranked based on their results (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, no points for a loss). In the event of 2 or more teams being equal on points, the following sub-indices are taken into account in order of priority: goal difference, total goals, away goals, wins, away wins, record of opponents played, cards, and UEFA points.
The top eight teams in the standings advance to the round of 16. Teams ranked 9-16 will play a play-off round against teams ranked 17-24. From this season, teams eliminated in the Champions League will not be transferred to the Europa League as before.
