According to information from the Management Board of Sun World Fansipan Legend Tourist Area, due to the influence of cold air with temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius, from 5:30 a.m. on January 5, frost appeared on the top of Fansipan, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai, creating a beautiful scene.

This is the first frost to appear on Fansipan Mountain in the first days of 2025. This is also the third time this winter that Fansipan has had frost, after the frosts on November 23 and December 23, 2024.

From the night of January 4 to the morning of January 5, the temperature at the top of Fansipan fluctuated between -1 degree Celsius and 0 degree Celsius, causing water vapor to condense into a thick layer of ice covering the wooden floor where the Fansipan symbol is located, the walkway, railing, and trees and grass on the mountain top at an altitude of 3,000m or higher.

At 8:30 a.m., the ice was still thick and showed no signs of melting.

It is forecasted that in the coming days, the temperature on the top of Fansipan will continue to be low, and frost may appear in the morning. This is an opportunity for tourists to experience and admire the white frost on the top of Fansipan.
