According to tourists' observations, frost appears from an altitude of 2,900 m and above, the higher the altitude, the thicker the frost layer. They stick to tree branches, blades of grass, stone steps on the path, and wooden floors of the Fansipan mountain sightseeing area, creating a white layer.

Staff at Sun World Fansipan Legend Tourist Area said this is the third frost to appear on the "roof of Indochina" since the beginning of winter.

Currently, the cold air is strengthening in Lao Cai, then it will have stable intensity, the temperature in the areas in the province will drop sharply, some places will be at 7 - 10 degrees Celsius, the weather will be very cold, very cold. Especially, in the highland area of ​​Sa Pa town, the temperature will drop below 5 degrees Celsius.

It is forecasted that from the night to the morning of January 1, 2025, the temperature at the top of Fansipan will decrease. If there is light rain and calm weather on the mountain, there is a possibility of frost.
