The Polish Defense Ministry has begun setting up a military camp for the new infantry division, which will begin service in the Podlaskie region near the border with Belarus in late autumn, Blaszczak said, TASS news agency reported.
“We are building temporary infrastructure for units of the 1st Infantry Division. An agreement has been signed to purchase 140 containers. The soldiers will begin their permanent service there in three months,” Blaszczak said.

Poland is creating military units for training and defense purposes near the border with Belarus, the country's defense minister said.
The decision to create new units in Podlaskie was approved by the Polish Ministry of Defense in early 2023. The units will be equipped with South Korean K2 and American Abrams tanks, as well as Krab and K9 self-propelled guns.
Current plans for the development of the Polish armed forces include expansion to six divisions and increasing the size of the army to 300,000 troops.
Earlier, Minister Blaszczak said that Poland will increase its military presence on the border with Belarus to 10,000 soldiers, of which 4,000 will support the border guards and the remaining 6,000 will be on standby.
