Avatr 12 - sedan without rear window

Avatr 12 is now available to customers in 40 cities across China. Since its launch in November, the electric sedan has received more than 20,000 orders.

The car is 5,020 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, 1,460 mm high and has a wheelbase of 3,020 mm. There are two drivetrain options: rear-wheel drive (RWD) with 312 horsepower and 4-wheel drive (AWD) with 578 horsepower. The AWD version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Both versions use a 94.5 kWh battery from CATL, with ranges of 700 km and 650 km respectively. The car can travel 200 km after 10 minutes of charging thanks to the 750 V super-fast charging feature.

Stretching across the dashboard, from the driver's side to the passenger's side, is a 35.4-inch CD display, next to a 15.6-inch central control display. The car uses Huawei's SW HarmonyOS 4 operating system.

The Avatr 12 has a dark-tinted sunroof, power windows, digital rearview mirrors, hidden door handles, 21-inch wheels and Brembo brakes, a hatchback-style roofline and no rear window.

The Avatr 12 has three Lidar sensors that send data to Huawei's advanced driver assistance system ADS 2.0. This means the car doesn't need HD maps and can cover 90% of urban driving scenarios.

Avatr is a premium electric vehicle brand that is a joint venture between Changan Automobile and battery maker CATL, with technology backed by Huawei. Avatr has a design center in Munich, Germany, where the Model 12 was born.

In fact, Truong An invests heavily in vehicle design in Europe. Its other electric vehicle brand, Deepal, also has a design center in Turin, Italy, headed by a former General Motors (GM) executive, Bertrand Bach.

In China, the Avatr 12 is priced at $42,100-$54,800. Avatr currently has two vehicles on the market, with the Avatr 11 SUV coming first. In November, the company sold 4,080 units of the 11.
