On March 20, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Duong Province Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Quach Van Hung (born in 1971) and Tran Van Tuan (aka Tran Tuan Hao, born in 1959, both residing in Ke Sat town) to investigate the crime of abuse of power while performing official duties that occurred in Trang Liet commune (now Ke Sat town, Binh Giang).

On March 21, the Provincial People's Procuracy approved the above decisions.

Authorities searched Quach Van Hung's house.

Previously, Quach Van Hung was the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Trang Liet commune in the 2011-2019 period and the former Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ke Sat town in the 2019-2021 period; Tran Van Tuan was a civil servant of the People's Council - People's Committee Office, statistician, treasurer of Trang Liet commune in the 2011-2016 period.

Police searched Tran Van Tuan's house.

In the initial investigation, the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police determined that from 2012 to 2019, taking advantage of his position as Chairman of the People's Committee of Trang Liet Commune, Quach Van Hung and his accomplices illegally sold and transferred 15 plots of land with an area of ​​1,638.5 m2 in Trang Liet Commune, collecting over 7.3 billion VND.

The Provincial Police Investigation Agency continues to expand the investigation to strictly handle the subjects according to the law.
