Runner-up Phuong Nhi wears national costume weighing 10kg

Runner-up Phuong Nhi released a photo of the official outfit she wore to the National Costume competition of the Miss International contest.

The costume is called “Stork” with the center being the traditional Vietnamese ao dai, behind are two large wings and a circular frame with a model of two storks facing each other.

The details are embellished with glitter, stones and pearl strings to help the outfit shine in the eyes of the beholder.

The costume is inspired by storks - an animal associated with the countryside and representing the image of hard-working Vietnamese people.

In addition, the image of a stork working hard day and night to take care of her children also symbolizes sacred and noble motherly love.

"Stork" is all white and silver, highlighting Phuong Nhi's pure and gentle beauty. Along with that, the white ao dai accentuates the mature and gentle features of Vietnamese women.

Phuong Nhi shared the reason she chose this costume in the National Costume competition: "I really like the meaning of the "Stork" costume because it is associated with the image of a mother. In addition, the costume is white so it suits me very well."

It is known that the designer wanted to modify the outfit to make it less heavy, but runner-up Phuong Nhi firmly kept the original design of "Stork": "At first, when I chose this design, I found it a bit difficult to wear and move because the outfit was quite heavy. After receiving support from everyone and after a period of practice, I feel everything is going very well."
