After nearly 1 week of opening the general admission system, the rate of candidates confirming admission to universities reached nearly 80%.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), from September 18 to 23, about 80% of candidates admitted in the first round have confirmed their admission to the general admission system and universities.

Previously, also according to the Ministry's statistics, at the end of the online admission fee payment period, the number of applications that had completed online payment procedures reached 97% of the total number of applications registered for admission.

According to regulations, from September 18 to before 5:00 p.m. on September 30, candidates must confirm their admission online for the first round on the system. Candidates who are admitted but do not complete this process will be considered to have refused the opportunity to study.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that in this year's admission round, the rate of fake candidates decreased significantly compared to last year. The reason could be that some candidates were admitted but did not confirm their admission because they were only admitted to their 3rd and 4th choices... or the tuition fees for the majors they were admitted to had tuition fees that were too high for their ability, so they did not confirm their admission and waited for additional admission opportunities. All will be compiled and analyzed by the Ministry of Education and Training after having complete data.

According to Deputy Minister Son, if in previous years, the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system only supported schools in processing virtual filtering for admission methods based on high school graduation exam results, this year it has expanded virtual filtering to all admission methods and combinations.

Basically, the system has been operating smoothly and relatively stable so far. With this system, candidates have the right to choose their priority wishes; schools centralize data to get admission results from the system; the Ministry of Education and Training has a unified, transparent database throughout the system and overcomes many problems related to management.

The Deputy Minister also said that there were certain problems during the system's operation, such as the first time candidates confirmed their admission, there was a phenomenon of repeated display of admission information (this error was fixed immediately afterwards and did not affect the candidates' admission results). The online fee payment process initially encountered some problems, but the extension of time and payment flow resolved the congestion and overload situation...

In addition, due to the fact that there are too many different admission methods included in the system, during the registration process, candidates are confused about the arrangement of their wishes. The Ministry of Education and Training has instructed technical teams and universities to correct mistakes and errors, ensuring the rights of candidates.

Overall, this year's admission organization has a strong transformation in terms of technology, ensuring candidates' rights and reducing the number of virtual candidates, contributing to promoting digital transformation.
