Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) informed that it is expected to simultaneously implement non-stop toll collection from May 5 at 5 airports: Noi Bai, Cat Bi, Phu Bai, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat.
After testing non-stop toll collection at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports from February 2024, ACV plans to officially apply non-stop toll collection at the above 5 airports to reduce traffic congestion.
Currently, the installation of the technical equipment system for non-stop toll collection and automatic cashless collection has been basically completed. Traffic statistics during the testing phase show that from February 6 to March 19, 203,606 vehicles passed through the non-stop toll lane at Noi Bai airport, and 132,926 vehicles passed through the non-stop toll lane at Tan Son Nhat airport.
In parallel with the trial collection process, ACV has asked the contractor to install equipment systems at Cat Bi, Phu Bai, and Da Nang airports for early operation.
In addition to the non-stop automatic toll collection method, the toll collection system at 5 airports is also expected to apply the Tap & Go method. ACV has coordinated with units with strengths in electronic payments to apply automatic toll collection. For vehicles without ETC tags, drivers only need to scan the QR Code when passing through the station, the device will automatically deduct the toll, the time to pass through the toll station only takes a few seconds.
The project to provide equipment for the non-cash collection system and non-stop automatic collection at 5 airports has a total investment of nearly 215 billion VND from ACV's development investment fund. The installed equipment uses the same technology as the method at toll stations on the highway, including: Ticket checking software system, central toll collection software, management software, virtualization server, firewall, post-inspection monitoring... to ensure smooth operation.
The application of non-stop toll collection at airports is currently suitable for the need to manage internal airport traffic activities and comply with current legal regulations.
