3 Hai Duong rowers won medals at the Asian U19 and U23 Rowing Championships

At the Asian U19 and U23 Rowing Championships held from September 11-14 in Shenyang (China), 3 out of 4 Hai Duong rowers in the national team won medals.

To participate in the tournament, the Vietnam Rowing Federation has summoned coach Nguyen Thi Huu and two rowers Nguyen The Anh Duc and Trieu Hoang Long from Hai Duong (to train and compete using local budget). In addition, there are other athletes from Hai Duong in the national team competing using other funding sources, including Nguyen Huu Thanh and Tran Huy Tiep.

After 4 days of competition, Hai Duong athletes helped the U19 and U23 Vietnamese rowing teams win 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. Rowers Nguyen Huu Thanh and Trieu Hoang Long won the silver medal in the U23 double rowing sculls; Nguyen Huu Thanh, Trieu Hoang Long and 2 other national team members won the silver medal in the U23 double rowing sculls. The bronze medal in the U19 double rowing sculls was won by Nguyen The Anh Duc and Truong Duc Luong of the Hanoi rowing team.

The Asian U19 and U23 Rowing Championships are the second international tournaments that Hai Duong rowers have participated in since the beginning of the year. At the Southeast Asian Youth, U19, U23 and Southeast Asian Championships (July), 9 Hai Duong athletes in the national teams (including Nguyen The Anh Duc and Trieu Hoang Long) all won gold medals.
