Hai Duong rowing team ranked second overall in the National Rowing and Canoeing Championship for Excellent Rowers

On May 19, the National Rowing and Canoeing Championship for the best rowers ended at Dong Nghe Lake (Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang, Da Nang). The Hai Duong rowing team ranked second overall.

Coach Le Thi Van of the Hai Duong rowing team said that the team competed excellently to win 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 2 bronze medals; exceeding the pre-tournament target of at least 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.

The gold medals won by the team were won by rowers: Vu Lam Phong, Bui Van Hoan, Trieu Hoang Long, Nhu Dinh Nam (heavyweight men's 4-scull); Nguyen Huu Thanh (lightweight men's single scull); Nguyen Huu Thanh, Vu Lam Phong, Bui Van Hoan, Nhu Dinh Nam (heavyweight men's 4-scull); Nguyen Huu Thanh, Trieu Hoang Long (lightweight men's double scull).

With this result, the Hai Duong rowing team ranked second overall, although they had the same number of gold medals, they were 2 silver medals behind the team above them, Ho Chi Minh City, and ranked above the teams: Ha Tinh, host Da Nang, and Thai Binh.

Also at this competition venue, in the canoeing event that ended on May 12, the Hai Duong team won 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals. This achievement exceeded the pre-tournament target of at least 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.

This is the 9th gold medal of Hai Duong rowing teams since the beginning of the year. Previously, in April, Hai Duong's traditional rowing team won 2 gold medals at the 2024 National Traditional Rowing Championship on Nhat Le River (Quang Binh).

This year's National Rowing and Canoeing Championship has more than 440 male and female rowers from 40 delegations nationwide participating.
