Promptly working out plans for renovation, repair of deteriorated relics

Relevant departments and the district authorities were required to find feasible plans for timely renovation, repair, and anti-deterioration.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, on April 23 afternoon inspected works at the special national relic and relic complex of Mao Dien Temple of Literature and Xua temple – Giam pagoda – Bia temple in Cam Giang district.

He was accompanied by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luong Van Cau and directors of the Departments of Planning and Investment; Construction; Finance; and Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

Checking some deteriorated and damaged items at the relic sites, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien required the departments and Cam Giang district authorities to urgently coordinate and find feasible plans for timely renovation, repair, and anti-deterioration.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee assigned the Departments of Planning and Investment and Construction to choose and introduce a unit to evaluate the entire Mao Dien Temple of Literature and consider the items really needing renovating and repairing first.

Stressing the landscape value of an ancient gao (Bombax ceiba) tree there, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee required the district authorities and the Relic Management Unit to expeditiously enlarge tree growing land with the aim of saving the gao tree at any cost.

Regarding Bia temple, he ordered the Provincial People’s Committee to urgently direct the displacement of a power line running across the relic area.

At the same time, the Provincial People’s Committee should promptly send a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism requesting its permission of the renovation of some deteriorated and damaged items at Xua temple.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee agreed to deduct VND1 billion from the provincial budget to renovate Cho communal house next to Xua temple (Nghia Phu hamlet, Cam Vu commune) and assigned the departments and district authorities to continue actively exploiting and attracting support resources to renovate and repair the historical relics.
