In the evening of 1 October, at Kiep Bac relic, Hai Duong Provincial People’s Committee held ceremonies of Welcoming Certificate of Special National Relic and Opening Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2012.

Con Son - Kiep Bac to Hai Duong Party organization and people
On Luc Dau River wharf, hundreds of boats were gorgeously decorated with flags and flowers. All Kiep Bac relic space was red with festive flags, brilliant with lights, resuscitating Dong A spirit over 700 years ago. On Thuong River dyke, shining were the tower for peace and contentment praying and thousands of flower garlands and coloured lanterns. A stage was imposingly erected right on the river bank. The scroll n the middle, a sword and brush – ink-slab aside embodies Vietnam’s tradition: “Carrying sword on the back, writing gracefully with a hand”. On the left of stage are Bach Dang stylized wooden stakes. On the right is the dashing boat with parallel sentences: “Van Kiep fresh air circulating water surrounding flowers endless bastions /Con Son bright moon healthy people prosperous animals descending talents”
At exactly 20 o’clock, the ceremony started with jubilant festive drum performed by the artists of Vietnam Classical Drama Theatre. Coming to attend the ceremony were leaders, former leaders of the Party and State; leaders, former leaders of the province and districts, towns; foreign guests, Buddhist priests and numerous people, visitors from many places.
Mr. Bui Thanh Quyen, Provincial Party Committee Secretary, solemnly delivered a speech, highlighting special values of cultural relic, natural resources of Con Son-Kiep Bac relic area, which is closely associated with the life and cause of the National Hero Tran Hung Dao, the National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai and the nation’s other celebrities like Tran Nguyen Dan, Chu Van An, Phap Loa, Huyen Quang ... The unique artist architectural works of the relic, the unusual rituals of ceremonies and grandeur greatness of celebrities constituted Con Son-Kiep Bac relic complex’s fascination to visitors from many places. In recent years, complying with Uncle Ho’s teaching when he visited Con Son-Kiep Bac, our province has studied, restored, repaired, embellished, upgraded various construction items of the relic area; collected, revived, added many rites of cultural value, supplementing new human values to the relic area. The Secretary pointed out that Con Son-Kiep Bac recognized as the special national relic is the honour and pride of Hai Duong Party organization and people. The Party organization and people in the province are determined to continue preserving, protecting, promoting the relic values for education of traditions, strengthening the nation’s spirit, creating comprehensive power to make Hai Duong develop quickly and sustainably.
On behalf of the Party and State, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc awarded the certificate of special national relic to provincial leaders and made a speech recognizing efforts of the Party, authorities at all levels and Hai Duong people in the preservation and promotion of cultural, historical and traditional values which renovate countenance of the East. He suggested Hai Duong Party and people strive harder to make Con Son - Kiep Bac relic match with the position of a special national cultural heritage.
Then, there was a special art performance with strong cultural character of the East, dramatized by Ph.D.Tran Dinh Ngon, directed by People's Artist Bui Dac Su, with the participation of hundreds of actors and actresses. The art performance consisted of two chapters. Chapter 1, "Van Kiep’s Grandeur Greatness" introducing Con Son - Kiep Bac, the region of sacred land and prominent figures, reproducing military festival on Luc Dau river, where the epic Van Kiep battle in the war against the Yuan - Mongolian armies for the second time. Dong A’s former magnanimity appeared when Royal Highest Hung Dao read the Call to troops cheering and rushing to the battle. Chapter 2, "Con Son’s Sacred Spirit" took viewers back to the pleasant, pure space of Con Son Mountain, the Phoenix, the convergence of the celebrities Nguyen Trai, Chu Van An, Tran Nguyen Dan, Phap Loa, Huyen Quang. The ancestors, with their noble qualities, wish to remind today's generation to preserve and promote the nation’s traditions, quintessence in the cause of national construction and defense.
The ceremony ended with releasing flower garlands on Luc Dau River. In the shimmer of fireworks, 5,000 thousand flower-lamps were released into the river, carrying wishes of peace for the souls of the brave soldiers who have lost their lives in the fight against foreign invaders, expressing hope for peace to the country and people.
