Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee (PPC), Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and PPC Standing Deputy Secretary Vu Van Son inspected preparations for the 2018 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival on September 10 morning.
They were accompanied by Mr. Nguyen Anh Cuong, Member of the PPC's Standing Board, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luong Van Cau, and leaders of relevant departments and branches and Chi Linh provincial town.
After actual inspection and hearing of a report on the preparations for the 2018 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien required the Festival Organizing Board to carefully review all work and detailed scenarios, define issues needing to be implemented in advance, promptly handle arising problems, and pay attention to propaganda before, during, and after the festival.

In his directive speech at the inspection, the PPC Secretary stressed that more officials, locals, and visitors were likely to come since the festival opening ceremony would be held in the evening.
Therefore, it is necessary to carefully and considerately prepare rituals and ensure civilization, politeness, and profound imprints without losing traditional historical and cultural value; focus on decoration to highlight the festive space and make a good impression on visitors; carefully work out a plan to ensure security and order and divide traffic; continue to clean the environment to create a green, clean, and beautiful landscape; resolutely not to let beggary, solicitation, and price raising happen during the festival season; etc.
This year's Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival is to be held from September 19 - 29 (the 10th - 20th day of the 8th lunar month).
The contents of this year's festival are basically similar to those of the previous festivals except that the festival opening, incense offering, and seal mark granting ceremonies are scheduled for the evening of the 16th day of the 8th lunar month instead of the morning of the 17th day of the 8th lunar month as before and will be telecast live by the Provincial Radio and Television.

The 718th death anniversary of National Hero, Hung Dao Great Lord Tran Quoc Tuan will also be celebrated in the evening instead of the morning as before.
To date, the Festival Organizing Board has completed 70% of the work involved.
The Management Board of Con Son - Kiep Bac Relics has been focusing on restoring the relics, hanging banners, red flags, flag strings, fixed signs, etc. to introduce and propagandize the festival and relics; contacting hau thanh (go into a trance) groups in and outside the province to organize a hau thanh event at the festival, jointly mobilizing forces and means to participate in ceremonies; etc.
Relevant branches are urgently repairing and renovating roads to the relics and making a plan to ensure security and order.
