Consider land recovery and change of land use purpose to implement 418 projects

At the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in November (8th time) on the morning of November 23, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment reported a proposal to the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval of land recovery, allowing the change of land use purpose from rice-growing land, protective forest land to implement projects and works in 2024 in the province.

Accordingly, the Department proposed to approve the recovery of more than 1,171 hectares of land to implement 418 projects and works in the province. Of which, 217 projects and works have been approved by the People's Council but have exceeded the 3-year deadline, and are proposed to continue implementation in 2024. There are 138 newly registered projects and works in accordance with the district-level land use planning approved by the Provincial People's Committee in 2021 and a number of public investment projects have been approved by competent authorities for funding. 63 projects and works are not in accordance with the district-level land use planning approved by the Provincial People's Committee but have been updated in the draft adjustment of the district-level land use planning to 2030 and proposed to allow the conversion of the purpose of use of more than 581 hectares of rice land and 4.42 hectares of protective forest land to implement 357 projects and works in the province.

Commenting on this content, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Luu Van Ban, requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to continue to coordinate with localities to review the list of projects proposed for land recovery and land use purpose change for implementation in 2024. In particular, it is noted that only land recovery and land use purpose change are proposed for projects and works that are truly necessary and urgent. For 63 public works, projects and land and housing treatment points that are not in accordance with the district-level land use planning and do not meet the conditions, they have not been considered for inclusion in the list of projects and works to submit for land recovery for implementation.
