After listening to the opinions of the delegates attending the meeting, Mr. Luu Van Ban, Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, requested to clarify the plans for arranging lecturers, civil servants, employees, and students of Hai Duong Medical College after the merger. There should be a plan to support training human resources for Hai Duong Medical College to meet standards; a financial plan after the arrangement...
In order for the merger project to be implemented soon, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to guide the school in the procedures for liquidating assets. Relevant units coordinated to review and understand the wishes before transferring lecturers and employees to the university.
The Department of Finance was assigned to invite representatives of relevant ministries to meet and discuss a number of other contents as a basis for inclusion in the project to merge the two schools in accordance with regulations, ensuring jobs for civil servants and employees in the units.
Hai Duong Medical Technical University is one of 11 higher education institutions under the Ministry of Health, training in medicine, nursing, medical technology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Hai Duong Medical College is a public school under the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, training nursing, midwifery and intermediate medical staff.
According to the project, Hai Duong Medical College currently has to maintain the operation of a vocational training facility with 34 employees; for many years, it has not met its enrollment target. Therefore, the ability to continue maintaining and expanding college and intermediate training is facing many difficulties. It is forecasted that in the coming years, the school will not be able to meet the requirements of financial autonomy and will not be qualified to continue operating. The planning of Hai Duong province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has proposed a plan to develop education and training infrastructure, in which in the following years, Hai Duong Medical Technical University will be consolidated and developed without Hai Duong Medical College. Therefore, the merger is necessary.
According to the project, Hai Duong Medical College will be merged into Hai Duong Medical Technical University to form a public service unit, a university education institution, under the Ministry of Health.
The school headquarters after the merger has 3 areas, including 2 areas belonging to Hai Duong Medical Technical University on Nguyen Luong Bang Street and Vu Huu Street (Hai Duong City); one area is the area merged in its original state from Hai Duong Medical College also on Nguyen Luong Bang Street.
