Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikec did not use specialized equipment during competition and still won silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Dikec, 51, and Sevval Ilayda Tarhan won silver in the 10m air pistol team event on July 30.
The image of shooter Dikec participating in the competition quickly went viral on social media because of his relaxed demeanor. This shooter only used earplugs, not specialized glasses or ear protection. While aiming, Dikec put his hands in his pockets.
An account with 4 million followers on social network X posted a photo of Dikec with the caption "Türkiye sent a 51-year-old man, without glasses, without an eye patch or ear protection, and still won a silver medal."
This photo attracted more than 53 million views, more than 770,000 likes and thousands of comments.
Dikec is participating in his fifth Olympics, counting from his first participation in Beijing 2008. It is not until Paris 2024 that he wins his first medal at an Olympics.
