On the evening of July 12, at the Provincial Cultural and Arts Center, the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism rehearsed the play "Duc sang giai oan khien" by Hai Duong Cheo Theater.
The Cheo play “Duc sang giai oan khien” was composed by Dr. Tran Dinh Ngon, directed by Meritorious Artist Doan Vinh, and performed by 45 artists and musicians of Hai Duong Cheo Theater.
The play “Duc sang giai oan khien” was developed from the original play “Trinh Nguyen” (considered one of the seven precious gems of the traditional Cheo art treasure). With extensive experience and a talented pen, the author has adjusted the play to be coherent and concise so that the audience can access it more easily. The play is also made more dramatic, building character images with unique personality traits...
The play revolves around the story of the kindness of the stepmother Trinh Nguyen towards her stepchildren; the sacrifice and filial piety of the two brothers Ton Trong and Ton Manh. The teacher of the two brothers Ton Trong and Ton Manh was falsely accused of murder. Because of their filial piety, the two brothers competed to take the blame for their teacher. When the mandarin asked Trinh Nguyen's mother about sentencing one of her two children to death, the mother volunteered to sacrifice her own child to save the life of her stepchild. Moved by their kindness and goodness, the mandarin ordered a reinvestigation and found the culprit... Through this content, the play praises emotional relationships: husband and wife; stepmother and stepchild; siblings; teacher and student; praises the talent, heart, and virtue of those who hold the scales of justice and criticizes the bad and evil in society.
Elaborately staged over nearly 2 months, after the final rehearsal, the play will be performed in many places inside and outside the province.
