VinGroup will sponsor the construction of Thong Nhat cinema on Ho Chi Minh Boulevard (Hai Duong City).

On the morning of June 7, Mr. Luu Van Ban, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee, chaired the 3rd meeting of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee in June.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and gave opinions on the investment plan to build a cinema at 28 Ho Chi Minh Avenue (Hai Duong City).

Delegates attending the meeting agreed on the policy of building a cinema based on the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Previously, at the first meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in May, this content was agreed by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung on the policy of building from socialized sources.

In his concluding remarks, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Luu Van Ban, requested the Hai Duong City People's Committee to coordinate and guide the investor, VinGroup Corporation, to complete the registration procedures to become a sponsor. On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee will hold a meeting to give opinions on the policy; then assign the Department of Planning and Investment to complete the investment acceptance procedures; the Department of Finance will preside over and coordinate to guide the liquidation of old assets, dismantling and handing over the site to the investor.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thong Nhat Cinema at 28 Ho Chi Minh Avenue has an area of ​​over 783 m², managed by the Department's Cultural and Arts Center, and was built in the 1960s. The building has seriously degraded, is at risk of collapsing and has been temporarily closed since 2005. In order to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the people and gradually improve cultural institutions in the field of cinema, combined with propaganda to carry out the political tasks of Hai Duong City and the province, the construction of a cinema here is necessary.

The cinema is expected to have a total of 450 seats, including the following items: box office, waiting area, technical area, restroom, management room, parking area for staff and audience, yard, gate, warehouse... The estimated construction cost is about 17.9 billion VND from socialized sources. Implementation period is 2024 - 2025.

Previously, on May 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a meeting to seek opinions from departments, the People's Committee of Hai Duong City and representatives of the sponsor (VinGroup Corporation). The sponsor agreed to sponsor the construction of Thong Nhat Cinema with products (construction works). At the same time, Hai Duong province was requested to promptly complete investment procedures and grant construction permits so that the investor has a basis to construct the project. After completion, the project will be handed over to the province for use.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee also discussed and considered a number of other important contents reported by the Departments of Home Affairs, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Construction, and Education and Training.
