Vietnamese films are popular at cinemas in Hai Duong City during the New Year holiday.

According to representatives of Lotte, Venus, and Ramestar cinemas in Hai Duong City, on December 30 and the morning of December 31, there were 20-40 visitors coming to watch movies at each time slot, an increase compared to normal days before the holiday but a decrease of about 20% compared to the New Year's Eve 2023.

Of which, about 70% of customers choose to watch Vietnamese movies such as: "On the drinking table, under the plot", "Ghost dog", "Soul eater" with many time slots during the day.

The comedy "On the drinking table, under the plot" features the trio Dieu Nhi - Thuy Ngan - Kha Nhu. Playing the roles of best friends, the three actresses create the most "crazy" affair on screen. With many humorous scenes, "On the drinking table, under the plot" brings a vibrant, joyful, youthful atmosphere to enjoy on the occasion of welcoming the new year 2024. The film will be released in theaters from December 29, 2023.

"The Dog Demon" is about a family that makes a living butchering dogs. The story follows Nam (Quang Tuan) returning to his hometown with his girlfriend when he receives news of his father's passing. When Nam lies next to his father's coffin, he dreams of his whole family being killed and hung up like dogs. That night, Nam's father comes to tell Nam that something related to dogs will drag his whole family to death. This makes Nam half-believing, but after burying his father, he begins to witness strange phenomena related to the white dog with a red nose that constantly disturbs, making the funeral atmosphere in the house even more terrifying. The family members, especially Mrs. Thuy (Van Dung), continuously face scary images, screams, and bloody hands. All of this makes everything in the house chaotic, the gloominess that covers makes Nam gradually suspect that his father is casting curses on the family. The film will premiere on December 29, 2023.

"The Soul Eater" features veteran faces and young actors such as Vo Dien Gia Huy, Hoang Ha, Huynh Thanh Truc, Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan, artist Viet Lien... The story takes place when Mr. Thap's grandmother, Mrs. Kham, was young, the early days of Hell village when the population was still sparse, demons and ghosts still haunted and wanted to invade the village.

The film attracts attention not only because of the strange legends about ancient witchcraft, but also because it recreates on screen a fascinating, mysterious and magical atmosphere, as well as combining Vietnamese folklore elements such as the film poster with the theme of "rat wedding" that once caused a fever.

In addition, this occasion also has the foreign film "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" which also attracts many young audiences.
