Vietnam won the overall title at the 9th Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championships

After 3 days of competition (from June 8-10), the 9th Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championship ended on the evening of June 10, at Quan Ngua Sports Palace, Hanoi.

The Vietnamese Aerobic Team competed successfully, winning 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals, ranking first overall.

The Korean delegation ranked second with 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 1 bronze medal. The Japanese delegation ranked third with 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

Assessing the professional work of the tournament, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation Phan Thuy Linh said that among the 14 countries and territories participating in the tournament, Korea and Japan were the two teams with outstanding skills, especially in the age groups of 15-17 and 12-14.

At the tournament, the Vietnam Aerobic team showed remarkable progress and demonstrated thorough preparation. From the top 5 in Asia, Vietnam rose to be in the top.

Notably, even in weak events, Vietnamese athletes' performances had scores equivalent to those of athletes from other countries.

Appreciating the efforts of the Organizing Committee of the host country Vietnam, Ms. Yagi Kitagawa Tammy, President of the World and Asian Aerobic Technical Committee affirmed that, through organizing the tournament, Vietnam has made a positive contribution to the development of this artistic sport in the Asian region.

"The tournament was a great success with Vietnam's careful preparation. I believe that all the participants had a wonderful experience in Hanoi. Your capital also left an impression with its hospitality and enthusiasm. We also had the opportunity to explore the unique culture and local cuisine during the tournament. I hope that Hanoi will become an attractive destination, becoming the center for organizing major sporting events of the continent in the future," Ms. Yagi Kitagawa Tammy shared.

The 9th Asian Aerobic Gymnastics Championship attracted 316 athletes from 14 countries and territories. The athletes competed in 18 events, competing for 68 sets of medals. Including men's singles, women's singles, mixed doubles, teams of 3, teams of 5, Aerobic Dance in 3 age groups: 12-14; 15-17 and over 18.

The Vietnamese team has 68 members, including 17 coaches and 51 athletes, participating in 18/18 competitions of the tournament.

This is considered a good opportunity for Hanoi to introduce its unique culture, beautiful natural landscapes and friendly, hospitable people to friends from 14 countries and territories competing in the tournament.

After this tournament, the Vietnam Aerobic team will continue to prepare to participate in the world tournament held in Italy next September.
