Violating alcohol concentration after birthday party, female driver in Ha Tinh hit and killed 1 person

On January 14, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) informed about the case of a female driver with alcohol concentration who fatally hit a truck driver on National Highway 1.

According to the Traffic Police Department, at 1:40 a.m. on January 13, PTMN (born in 2001, in Ha Tinh) was driving a car 38A- 516.xx, when reaching Cam Quang commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh, he crashed into a truck 78C- 037.xx.

At that time, the truck had an accident. The truck driver, Mr. LNQ (born in 1990, in Phu Yen), got out to check the vehicle and was hit from behind by a car driven by Ms. N., causing Mr. Q. to die.

The results of the female driver's alcohol test showed that she violated the level of 0.385 mg/l of breath. This is a high alcohol concentration index, almost reaching the maximum threshold prescribed in Decree 100 (0.4 mg/l of breath).

Initially, the female driver confessed that she was traveling from Ha Tinh city to Cam Xuyen district and had just attended a friend's birthday party.

The police are continuing to work with the female driver and consolidate the case file for handling according to regulations.

From January 11 to March 9, the national traffic police will coordinate with other police forces to concentrate forces and vehicles to carry out a peak period to ensure traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and the 2024 Spring Festival.

Notably, on the road, the police will resolutely handle violations of alcohol and drug concentrations and other behaviors that lead to accidents such as speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, overloading, or carrying more people than allowed...

The cases that are focused on inspection and handling of violations are commercial vehicles transporting goods and passengers. Particularly on National Highway 1, the Traffic Police Department will directly direct and inspect the patrol and handle violations on the inter-route.
