U23 Vietnam enters the quarter-finals of the 2024 U23 Asia

After U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Malaysia, U23 Uzbekistan also defeated U23 Kuwait. Thus, in Group D of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship, U23 Vietnam and U23 Uzbekistan are both certain to enter the quarterfinals. The match between the two teams in the final round will determine the top spot.

U23 Uzbekistan and U23 Vietnam both have 6 points after 2 matches. With a goal difference of +4, U23 Vietnam is temporarily ranked 2nd after U23 Uzbekistan (goal difference of +7). U23 Kuwait and U23 Malaysia have no points and are definitely eliminated.

On the evening of April 20, U23 Vietnam defeated U23 Malaysia with a score of 2-0 thanks to a beautiful goal by Khuat Van Khang and a penalty kick by Vo Hoang Minh Khoa.

On the opening day, U23 Vietnam also got 3 points against U23 Kuwait with a 3-1 victory. The scorers for U23 Vietnam were Nguyen Van Tung and Bui Vi Hao (2 goals).

U23 Vietnam achieved the goal set before the tournament started, which was to get past the group stage. The quality of U23 Vietnam's football cannot be said to have met expectations, but the players are showing progress with each match.
