As a result, Nguyen Dinh Bac suffered a serious injury to his left ankle ligament, had to be fixed in a splint and will definitely be absent from the remaining two group stage matches of U23 Vietnam against U23 Malaysia (April 20) and U23 Uzbekistan (April 23).

On his personal page, the striker born in 2004 shared: "It's sad to receive the result and not be able to continue fighting with his teammates in the rest of the tournament. But it's okay, that's football, trying is not enough, you need more luck.

I will be here to cheer for the team and hope for the best results for us. I hope I am strong enough to overcome this period."

U23 Vietnam will not be allowed to add or replace players for any reason after finalizing the list of 23 official players participating in the tournament.

According to regulations, teams have a deadline to replace and supplement the official roster 6 hours before the team's first match.

Without Nguyen Dinh Bac, coach Hoang Anh Tuan is at a disadvantage as he loses a fast attacking option.
