Although U13 HADUWACO Hai Duong lost to U13 Binh Dinh in the last match of the group stage, they entered the quarter-finals against strong opponent U13 Viettel as the first team in Group C. In Group A of the qualifying round, the host U13 Dak Lak unexpectedly held U13 Viettel to a draw in the last match and took the top spot from their opponent. This result forced the two teams of two coaches from Hai Duong, Tran Huu Hung of U13 HADUWACO and Nguyen Minh Dung of U13 Viettel, to be eliminated in the quarter-finals.
