South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating rises sharply again

Yoon Suk Yeol's positive rating for his governance increased by 3.2 percentage points to 35.7 percent, while his negative rating fell by 2.2 percentage points to 61.9 percent.

The results of a poll conducted by Realmeter on 2,506 adults, released on October 30, showed that the approval rating of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol increased again for the first time in 3 weeks.

The positive rating of President Yoon's performance in governing the country increased by 3.2 percentage points to 35.7%, while the negative rating decreased by 2.2 percentage points to 61.9%.

Previously, the approval rating of the South Korean President had dropped for two consecutive weeks, from 37.7% to 34% and finally to 32.5% in the first week of October.

Realmeter did not give a specific explanation for the rebound in approval ratings. However, major events during the survey period included President Yoon Suk Yeol's state visits to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Yoon's approval ratings tend to rise after overseas trips.

Meanwhile, another poll conducted by Realmeter showed that the ruling National Power Party's support rate increased by 0.6 percentage points from last week to 35.8%.

Also during this period, support for the main opposition Democratic Party also increased by 1.9 percentage points, to 48%.

The poll on political parties' trust ratings was conducted among 1,003 adults from October 26-27.
