On September 11, Tu Ky and Ninh Giang districts (Hai Duong) completed the evacuation of thousands of people living outside the Luoc River dike to safety.
In Ninh Giang district, by 6:30 p.m. on September 11, the district and communes and towns had mobilized and evacuated 100 households with 237 people outside the Luoc River dike to a safe place.
On the afternoon of September 11, in the face of the situation where the water level of the Luoc River reached and exceeded the second alarm level, Ninh Giang district deployed the work of evacuating people at the dyke and areas at risk of flooding in Ninh Giang town, the communes of Hiep Luc, Hung Long, Van Hoi and Hong Phong. The plan prioritizes the elderly, children, people with disabilities and vulnerable people.
Ninh Giang still has 78 households with 173 people outside the Luoc River dike, and is conducting propaganda, mobilization, and forced evacuation to a safe place. In case the Luoc River water level rises to level III and threatens people's lives and livelihoods, Ninh Giang district will deploy a plan to evacuate people according to appropriate response plans.
Tu Ky district has completed the evacuation of 3,800 people in Huu Chung village, Ha Thanh commune and Quy Cao village, Nguyen Giap commune living outside the Luoc river dike to safety.
Nearly 300 officers and soldiers of the district police and army, the provincial military command, and Military Region 3 supported the evacuation of evacuees to village cultural houses, commune People's Committee headquarters, and local schools. The arrangement of evacuation sites and provision of necessities for the people were ensured.
Ha Thanh commune is the "water belly" of Tu Ky district, located at the end of the Bac Hung Hai irrigation system. Due to its low-lying terrain, this area is heavily affected if heavy rains or floods occur.
