According to Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, since the morning of September 6, many schools in Hai Duong have deployed to respond to storm number 3 (super storm Yagi).
Schools closely follow weather developments, storm No. 3 intensity, and instructions from the Prime Minister, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Department of Education and Training of Hai Duong to implement.
Accordingly, schools have assigned a 24/7 flood and storm prevention schedule; have plans to implement the "4 on-site" motto to promptly respond in case of incidents.
Many schools have reviewed all facilities, equipment, vulnerable points, drainage systems, and heat-resistant roofs to have timely repair, reinforcement, and unclogging plans.
During the morning class on September 6, schools spent time informing students about storm No. 3 and instructing them on how to respond during and after the storm; and informing parents to work together to ensure safety during storms. On September 6, many schools trimmed trees in the schoolyard, checked branches and trees at risk of breaking or falling to cut them down and reinforce them. Previously, many schools had proactively trimmed trees in the schoolyard since the summer.
Many schools also moved assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, records, and books to safe places. Kindergartens moved and tied down outdoor equipment and toys to ensure safety.
Many elementary schools have asked students to take all their school bags and notebooks home. Since the afternoon of September 6, many schools have suspended student-related activities to focus on storm response.
By late afternoon on September 6, all schools had deployed forces to secure the door systems, turn off all electrical systems, internet networks, etc.
On the afternoon of September 6, the Hai Duong Department of Education and Training directed schools to let students stay home on September 7 to avoid storm No. 3.
