Dismantling a production line of nearly 600 types of fake milk powder, earning nearly 500 billion VND

A production, trading and consumption ring of fake milk powder in extremely large quantities in Hanoi and neighboring provinces has just been discovered and dismantled by the Ministry of Public Security's professional units.

The police have prosecuted and temporarily detained eight suspects for producing and trading in counterfeit food products and violating accounting regulations with serious consequences.

Initial investigation results by the police agency determined that from August 2021 to present, the subjects have established Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Group Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to produce and trade powdered milk.

To date, this line has produced 573 brands of powdered milk of all kinds. The milk is for people with diabetes, kidney failure, premature babies, and pregnant women.

The declared ingredients such as bird's nest extract, cordyceps, macca powder, walnut powder... are completely absent from the product. The subjects have removed some of the input materials and replaced them with some additives.

The police determined that the quality indicators of some substances in the powdered milk were below 70% of the announced level, enough to be identified as counterfeit goods.

In about 4 years, the subjects sold all kinds of milk to the market, bringing in revenue of nearly 500 billion VND.
