Dien Bien Provincial Police said they have just coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Ministry of Public Security and the Police of Northern Laos provinces to successfully break up a major drug case from Laos to Vietnam.

Previously, during the peak month of drug crime prevention and control, Dien Bien Provincial Police coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - Ministry of Public Security and the Police of Northern Laos provinces to establish a joint project 423D to fight.
Through professional measures, the Task Force identified a drug trafficking and illegal transportation ring with many participants, bringing drugs from Laos to Dien Bien and transporting them to other provinces for consumption with extremely sophisticated and closed methods masterminded and led by a subject in Dien Bien province. The Task Force mobilized maximum forces and means to fight and solve the case.
At 3:05 p.m. on June 2, in Na Lau village, Bung Lao commune, Muong Ang district (Dien Bien province), the working groups discovered and arrested Sung A So (born in 1987, residing in Ca Tau village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province) for illegal drug trafficking. Searching the subject, the authorities seized 7 heroin cakes (weighing about 2.5 kg), 6,000 synthetic drug pills and many related evidences. When discovered and arrested, Sung A So fought back frantically, but was subdued and arrested by the authorities.
At the same time, a working group deployed in Ca Tau village, Xa Dung commune, Dien Bien Dong district (Dien Bien province) successfully surrounded and arrested Sung A Vu. This is Sung A So's younger brother and was involved in transporting drugs with So. On the same day, Dien Bien Provincial Police summoned and urgently searched the person and residence of Luong Thi Than (born in 1975, residing in Xuan Tre 2 village, Bung Lao commune, Muong Ang district, Dien Bien province), a member of the ring who regularly bought and sold drugs with Sung A So.
This is an effective project on drug prevention and control cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the fight against drug crimes, successfully destroying a transnational drug ring, arresting criminals who illegally traded drugs from Laos to Dien Bien and brought them to other provinces for consumption.
