Interprovincial lottery ring worth over 180 billion VND busted in Ha Giang

On the afternoon of January 14, according to information from Ha Giang Provincial Police, the Criminal Police Department of Ha Giang Provincial Police has successfully dismantled a gambling ring in the form of buying and selling inter-provincial lottery numbers with a total transaction amount of over 180 billion VND.

Previously, at 6:30 p.m. on January 12, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with professional units to arrest Vu Thi Phuong (born in 1976, residing in Group 5, Viet Quang town, Bac Quang district) for organizing gambling.

Through the investigation and investigation of the subjects and collected data, the police summoned 13 related people, mainly residing in Viet Quang town (Bac Quang district), Coc Pai town (Xin Man district) and Xuan Dinh ward (Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi).

The investigation agency determined that this was a large-scale inter-provincial gambling ring operating in the form of buying and selling lottery numbers.

Since January 2023, Phuong and his group of juniors have been making transactions worth more than 500 million VND/day.

Currently, the Criminal Police Department of Ha Giang Province Police continues to investigate and arrest subjects related to this gambling ring.

In early December 2023, the Investigation Police Agency (IPA) of the Ministry of Public Security also successfully dismantled a gambling ring, prosecuting 27 defendants for "Organizing gambling" and "Gambling" in the form of Poker.

At the time of inspection, the authorities seized many exhibits including: 2 oval Poker tables, 18 chairs, 5 CPUs; 2 hard drives; more than 100 decks of cards; 3 cameras; 1 laptop; 1 box of chips; more than 283 million VND; 400 USD; 34 mobile phones; 284,330 chip points equivalent to more than 284 million VND and many other objects and documents serving the purpose of organizing gambling and gambling.

The total amount of money used to gamble in Poker is about 20 billion VND.
