General Secretary and President To Lam received Global Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Vice President, Member of the Executive Board of Airbus Group, Benoit De Saint-Exupery and leaders of Safran Group.
Within the framework of the 19th Francophone Summit in Paris (France), on the afternoon of October 5 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam received Global Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Vice President, Member of the Executive Board of Airbus Group, Benoit De Saint-Exupery and leaders of Safran Group.
At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated Airbus on maintaining its position as the world's largest aircraft manufacturer for the fifth consecutive year; Airbus aircraft with good quality and modern technology have been exploited by private corporations and groups in Vietnam, bringing high efficiency, enhancing economic connectivity, and contributing to domestic socio-economic development.
Expressing his delight at the news that Airbus will hand over new aircraft to VietjetAir on this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated Airbus's cooperation and support with Vietnam during the operation process and affirmed that Vietnam welcomes and hopes Airbus will continue to invest in areas of strength such as aerospace, and cooperate to support Vietnamese partners in researching and evaluating aircraft to be able to select suitable aircraft and conduct highly effective flights.
Thanking Airbus for its commitment to supporting Vietnam in improving aviation quality and pilot training, General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that the Group soon research and invest in component manufacturing factories and participate in developing Vietnam's aviation industrial ecosystem.
General Secretary and President To Lam suggested that during its operations in Vietnam, with its large customer network and worldwide supply chain, Airbus will continue to: encourage and support French businesses and Airbus partners to increase investment in Vietnam; support the development of supporting industries, innovation associated with technology transfer, especially high, green, and clean technology; support Vietnamese businesses to improve production capacity, increase competitiveness to participate in the global supply chain.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam is committed to creating all favorable conditions, in accordance with the law, for French investors in general and Airbus Group in particular to invest and do business effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.
At the reception, Mr. Benoit De Saint-Exupery, Global Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Vice President, Member of the Executive Board of Airbus Group expressed his joy and thanked the General Secretary and President for taking the time to receive him and for his positive comments about the Group.
Mr. Benoit De Saint-Exupery said that Airbus Group has had a cooperative relationship with Vietnamese agencies and enterprises for nearly 30 years. Currently, the group is cooperating with Vietjet in the contract to supply A350 aircraft and research and upgrade the fleet with Vietnam Airlines; other related cooperation programs and projects...
Mr. Benoit De Saint-Exupery also said that in addition to cooperation in civil aviation, Airbus is implementing project activities in space technology; helicopters; coordinating the production of aircraft components... and wishes to cooperate with Vietnam.
Mr. Benoit de Saint-Exupery hopes that Vietnam will continue to create favorable conditions for the Group to cooperate with relevant units and businesses to upgrade and develop sustainable aircraft.
Receiving Mr. Philippe ERRERA, Group Director for International Development and Government of the Group and members of the Safran Group, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated the business results and highly appreciated the effective business cooperation activities of the Group in Vietnam.
General Secretary and President To Lam said that regarding aviation infrastructure development, Vietnam has issued a Plan to implement the Master Plan for the development of the national airport and seaport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Vietnam has also issued an Action Program on green energy conversion, reducing carbon and methane emissions in the transport sector.
In the strategy for development and application of space science and technology until 2030, Vietnam has set the goal of widely applying achievements of space science and technology; investing with focus and key areas related to national defense, security, resource and environmental management, monitoring and supporting the reduction of damage caused by natural disasters, and providing diverse services to the people.
To achieve the above goals, it is necessary to have the participation of experts, organizations and multinational corporations in this field to utilize resources and experience to support Vietnam in implementation.
General Secretary and President To Lam hoped that Safran in particular and French enterprises in general would participate in supporting the development of the space industry in Vietnam in the coming time; and suggested that Safran discuss and coordinate with the Ministry of Science and Technology to concretize cooperation activities in the coming time.
Director of Safran Group for International Development and Government Philippe ERRERA thanked General Secretary and President To Lam for taking the time to meet him and expressed his pride in cooperating with Vietnamese units and corporations, hoping to expand cooperation in many other areas where the group has strengths with Vietnamese units, corporations and enterprises.
