On the morning of August 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the periodic restoration work of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2023 of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board (Mausoleum Management Board).

Also attending were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; representatives of the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Finance, Construction, Home Affairs, Justice, Information and Communications; Government Office; Hanoi People's Committee.

To carry out the assigned tasks, the Mausoleum Management Board has proactively developed plans, prepared well in terms of human resources, materials, plans, coordinated and implemented periodic renovations of the Mausoleum to ensure absolute quality and safety and completed on schedule.

The Mausoleum Management Board coordinated with medical experts from the Moscow Biomedical Research Center to complete the task of making a large-scale medicine for President Ho Chi Minh's body according to the correct procedure and with absolute safety; conducted maintenance and repair of the technical equipment system, the architecture of the Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, and the People's Reception Area; and completed the renovation and embellishment of 210 grass plots on Ba Dinh Square.

After completing the tasks, President Ho Chi Minh's body continued to be preserved in the best condition. The technical equipment system operated stably, accurately, reliably, ensuring the backup factor. The landscape and architecture of the Mausoleum and surrounding works were more spacious and clean. The officers, employees and soldiers accumulated more experience, improved their organizational level and ability to meet the political requirements of the unit.

After inspecting the periodic renovation work of President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Prime Minister had a working session with the Mausoleum Management Board on the results of task implementation in the first 6 months of 2023.

Reporting to the Prime Minister, the Mausoleum Management Board said that in the first 6 months of 2023, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum welcomed and served nearly 1.5 million visitors to visit President Ho Chi Minh (2.8 times higher than the same period in 2022), including more than 131,000 foreign visitors. The Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace welcomed nearly 2.2 million visitors, 7.68 times higher than the same period. The Ho Chi Minh Museum welcomed and served nearly 418,000 visitors (2.6 times higher than the same period), including more than 20,000 foreign visitors.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pointed out that President Ho Chi Minh was a genius leader of the Party and the nation, a national liberation hero, an outstanding cultural celebrity, who brought glory to our nation and our country. He symbolized the quintessence of Vietnamese culture, the most beautiful values ​​of the Vietnamese soul, will, steadfast character, and personality; and was a shining example of revolutionary morality.

His whole life was associated with the cause of national liberation, national unification, and building a peaceful and prosperous Vietnam. The history and image of Vietnam will always be associated with his image.

With infinite love and eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho, our Party, State and people always determine that preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh is a particularly important political task, of great significance to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Prime Minister recalled that on the same occasion last year, he inspected the periodic restoration work of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and summarized 30 years of excellent cooperation between the Mausoleum Management Board and the Russian Federation Institute of Medicinal Plants and Essential Oils in preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh, with the spirit of "having done well, we must do even better".

The Prime Minister emphasized that Uncle Ho's Mausoleum is a project of special political and cultural significance to the revolutionary cause of the Party, State and people; a sacred image, a unique symbol, of practical value in educating morality and lifestyle for every Vietnamese citizen; a place where the sentiments and beliefs of compatriots and soldiers nationwide converge.

President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a place for friends and international guests to visit and better understand his life, career; ideological values, ethics, style; great contributions and contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause and the national liberation movement around the world.

Uncle Ho's Mausoleum has become a beloved red address in the hearts of people across the country; a sacred place for generations of Vietnamese people to respectfully remember and pay tribute to his great contributions; an important cultural activity place for the people of the capital in particular and the people of the whole country in general.

Over the years, with a passionate heart, effort and intelligence, the collective leadership, officers and soldiers of the Mausoleum Management Board have united, unified, proactively overcome difficulties, overcome challenges, focused on completing assigned tasks, achieving many positive results. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the Ba Dinh Historical and Cultural Relic Complex, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs, Ba Dinh Square, One Pillar Pagoda... is a place where the quintessence, values, personalities, and heroic spirit of the country and people of Vietnam and the thoughts, style, morality, and sentiments of the great President Ho Chi Minh converge and spread.

However, the management and operation model of the area still has shortcomings, is not suitable for reality and is not truly worthy of the significance, position and special role of the relic site. Therefore, the Prime Minister requested the Mausoleum Management Board to coordinate with relevant ministries, branches and agencies to perfect the institution, develop a draft legal document on the organizational model, functions and tasks of the relic site management agency; reorganize the relic site management apparatus in accordance with requirements and tasks; review related planning, create a seamless connection of the Cultural and Historical Relic Cluster; organize the clearance of constructions that are affecting the relic site; manage and apply public services in relic management, organize well the visiting activities in the relic site; ensure absolute security and order; build a spacious, clean and beautiful landscape in the relic area; strictly implement the regulations and instructions of competent authorities.

“It is necessary to build a model to manage and operate this sacred area in accordance with its value; ensuring safety and strictness, while also being cultural, friendly and close, reflecting Uncle Ho's style, morality and ideology of being close and friendly to the people; the people must enjoy this sacred cultural and historical space,” the Prime Minister directed.

With the spirit of “Once determined, then be even more determined; once made an effort, then make even more effort; once done well, then do it even more effectively”, the Prime Minister requested the Mausoleum Management Board to continue to promote the glorious tradition of the unit, the sense of responsibility before the Party, the State and the people, constantly improve its capacity to best perform the task of preserving and protecting the body of President Ho Chi Minh in all conditions.
