The Prime Minister is the Head of the Steering Committee for the development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung is Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.

The Steering Committee for the development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project was established under Decision No. 1160/QD-TTg dated October 6, 2023 of the Prime Minister to advise the Government and the Prime Minister to research, direct, and coordinate the resolution of important, inter-sectoral tasks in the process of developing the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

The Steering Committee is responsible for researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to develop the Regional and International Financial Center Project; assisting the Prime Minister in directing, harmonizing and coordinating between ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and localities in developing the Regional and International Financial Center Project.

At the same time, the Steering Committee assists the Prime Minister in urging ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies and localities to develop the Regional and International Financial Center Project; presides over coordination and organization of cooperation activities, consultation and exchange with domestic and international agencies and organizations on the development of the Regional and International Financial Center in Vietnam, and performs other tasks related to the development of the Regional and International Financial Center Project assigned by the Prime Minister.

The Steering Committee works part-time, promoting the responsibility of the Head of the Steering Committee and each member of the Steering Committee in researching, proposing directions, tasks, and solutions to build and implement the Project of Regional and International Financial Center, ensuring feasibility, effectiveness, and suitability with the practical situation to maximize the potential and advantages of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City in particular.
