Today, the National Assembly continued its 17th working day (8th Session, 15th National Assembly) at the National Assembly House, Hanoi, under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
In the morning, under the direction of Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall to listen to: Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, authorized by the Prime Minister, present the Report on the Draft Law on Employment (amended); Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Social Committee Nguyen Thuy Anh present the Report on the Draft Law on Employment (amended). Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, authorized by the Prime Minister, presented the Report on the Draft Law on Teachers. Chairman of the National Assembly's Culture and Education Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh present the Report on the Draft Law on Teachers.
Under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the draft Resolution on piloting the handling of evidence and assets during the investigation, prosecution and trial of a number of criminal cases. At the discussion session, 15 National Assembly deputies expressed their opinions. The majority of deputies agreed with the necessity of issuing the Resolution and agreed with many contents of the draft Resolution.
In addition, delegates focused on discussing and giving opinions on a number of specific contents such as: The purpose of early promulgation of the Resolution is to meet practical requirements in resolving cases and criminal cases under the monitoring and direction of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity, especially economic crimes and corruption, contributing to better ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of related organizations and individuals and minimizing negative impacts on the investment and business environment; on the name, scope of regulation, and applicable subjects. Along with that is the principle of pilot implementation; Measures to handle evidence and assets during the proceedings (including handling evidence and assets in the form of money; depositing security for the prosecution agency to cancel the seizure, temporary detention, attachment, and blockade; allowing the purchase, sale, and transfer of evidence and assets; handing over evidence and assets to the legal owner or manager for management, exploitation, and use; temporarily suspending transactions, temporarily suspending registration, and transferring ownership and right to use assets). Delegates also discussed the authority, order, and procedures for deciding on the application and cancellation of measures to handle evidence and assets; the responsibilities of agencies in the process of handling evidence and assets; and the effectiveness of the Resolution.
At the end of the discussion session, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Huy Tien spoke to explain and clarify a number of issues of concern to National Assembly deputies.
In the afternoon, the National Assembly discussed in groups the Draft Law on Teachers and the Draft Law on Employment (amended).
On Monday, November 11, 2024, the National Assembly will conduct a question-and-answer session with National Assembly deputies. The session will be broadcast live on Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam National Assembly Television.
