Mohamed Salah's only goal in the 13th minute of the match between Liverpool and Brentford helped The Kop win 1-0 and narrow the gap with 4th-placed MU to exactly 1 point.

Liverpool vs Brentford goals

Liverpool: Salah (13')

Facing a Brentford team with no goals and playing at home, Liverpool rushed to attack right after the opening whistle in order to score an early goal to take the lead.

And they got what they needed in the 13th minute. Van Dijk headed the ball to Salah, who finished accurately to open the scoring.

However, after scoring, Liverpool suddenly slowed down. They even let Brentford press the field again for the rest of the first half.

In the 40th minute, Liverpool almost paid the price for this. Mbeumo had a very brave escape, surpassing Van Dijk. He put the ball in the net but the referee did not recognize the goal because of an offside.

In the second half, Brentford continued to be the team that played with more effort. They pushed up their formation in search of an equalizer but unfortunately lacked the necessary sharpness in decisive situations.

Liverpool also had chances to score, but the home team's strikers were quite unlucky. Gakpo alone had two good chances in the 53rd and 84th minutes, but both were wasted regrettably.

The result of this match was 1-0 in favor of The Kop. Liverpool has 62 points after 35 matches, 1 point less than the 4th ranked team Man United but has played 2 more matches.
