Since the beginning of July, every day the Dong Loc T-junction relic site has welcomed 3,500-4,000 visitors to offer incense, pay tribute and commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the peace and independence of the Fatherland.
In July, long lines of people again returned to the special national historical site of Dong Loc T-junction (Can Loc district, Ha Tinh) to commemorate the noble sacrifices of thousands of soldiers and people who died to maintain the North-South traffic artery during the nation's resistance war against the US to save the country.
Dong Loc T-junction (now in Dong Loc town, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province), located on Ho Chi Minh road, is the intersection of National Highway 15A and Provincial Road 2.
During the war years, this place was the traffic artery for the rear to support human and material resources for the South.
Dong Loc intersection is considered the "throat" of the traffic route connecting the "great rear of the North" with the "great front line of the South." Accordingly, from April to October 1968, the US bombed 2,000 times and dropped nearly 50,000 bombs of all kinds. On average, each square meter here had to endure more than 3 bombs.
The enemy attacked fiercely but still could not stop the spirit and will of our army and people. With the spirit of "Blood can stop flowing, heart can stop beating but traffic veins will never be blocked;" on the Dong Loc T-junction road, the blood of hundreds, thousands of heroic martyrs of forces such as soldiers, youth volunteers, police, traffic workers, militia, medical staff, post office, drivers, information... was shed.
In particular, the sacrifice of 10 female youth volunteers from Squad 4, Company 552, General Team 55 has become an "immortal epic," a shining symbol of the indomitable will, strength, and bravery of our army and people.
In 1989, Dong Loc T-junction was ranked as a national historical relic. In 1995, the Party and State assigned the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to invest in the construction, management and exploitation of construction items at the relic site.
On December 9, 2013, the Dong Loc T-junction relic site was recognized by the Prime Minister as a special national historical relic site on the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail system.
The historical relic complex of Dong Loc T-junction includes many meaningful works, typically the Victory Monument, the Memorial House of heroic martyrs of the national youth volunteer force, the tomb of 10 heroic martyrs of the Dong Loc T-junction, the Memorial House of heroic martyrs of the transport sector who sacrificed their lives in Ha Tinh, the symbol column of the transport sector, the bell tower of Dong Loc T-junction, the temple of Dong Loc T-junction, the Traditional House of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force, the Traditional House of Dong Loc T-junction...
The war has long since ended, and today Dong Loc T-junction is a "red address" for educating revolutionary traditions for the people and young generations across the country.
Every year, millions of tourists come to offer incense to commemorate, pay tribute, and pay tribute. In particular, towards the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), from the beginning of July until now, every day the Dong Loc T-junction relic site welcomes from 3,500 to 4,000 tourists to offer incense and visit.
In the pilgrimage footsteps of every tourist when visiting "red addresses," Dong Loc T-junction is always a destination that leaves many deep impressions when hearing touching stories, witnessing impressive historical artifacts about a time of living and fighting with hardship and indomitability of our army and people.

Being able to personally offer incense sticks and white flowers to the graves of heroic martyrs... made me extremely emotional."
Not only domestic tourists, many foreign tourists also expressed their impressions and special feelings for the country and people of Vietnam when coming to Dong Loc T-junction.
Mr. Jay Gray, an American tourist, wrote in the visitor's book at the relic site: “I am a 79-year-old American citizen. My generation started the war in Vietnam. Fortunately, I did not visit Vietnam during the war. Today is January 7, 2024 and this is my first time in Vietnam. Most Americans my age feel ashamed that America caused this terrible war in Vietnam. I hesitated to come to Vietnam because I thought that the Vietnamese people would hate me and America. But I was wrong, the Vietnamese people treated me very kindly and friendly. I am very happy to see that Vietnam has completely recovered from the war, becoming a modern, clean, green, safe and advanced country. I am deeply grateful to all the Vietnamese people for their kindness, hospitality and tolerance for the terrible crimes that America committed."
Towards the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), the 56th anniversary of the Dong Loc Victory, and the 56th anniversary of the sacrifice of 10 heroic female martyrs of the Dong Loc Youth Volunteers (July 24, 1968 - July 24, 2024), the Dong Loc T-junction Relic Site Management Board has proactively arranged 100% of its staff to be on duty, ready to welcome, guide, and serve visitors to offer incense, commemorate, research, learn, and organize traditional education activities at the relic site.
