The draft directive, developed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has just finished collecting comments from ministries and branches.

According to the draft, the Ministry of Public Security will preside over and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to implement the e-visa policy for all international tourist markets, increasing the visa exemption period from 15 to 30 days for countries that have applied the visa exemption policy.

In addition, the ministry needs to strengthen information technology application solutions and improve processes and procedures for issuing electronic visas.

Simplify the process of controlling entry, exit, and customs procedures at air, land, and sea border gates, ensuring the fastest and most convenient access for international visitors to Vietnam.

Visa issues are considered one of the major problems of Vietnamese tourism, causing our country to not attract many international visitors in recent times.

The draft directive also sets out specific tasks for relevant ministries and People's Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities to attract international visitors.

In particular, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to improve international competitiveness in tourism, restructure tourism activities to meet global trends, and focus on developing quality, diverse, differentiated tourism products with high added value.
