SCB closes another series of transaction offices, narrows operations in Hanoi

Saigon Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SCB) continues to terminate the operations of a series of transaction offices. Notably, this bank is gradually reducing its presence in the Hanoi market.

SCB is gradually reducing its presence in the Hanoi market as up to 9 transaction offices in the capital have stopped operating.

Since the beginning of November, SCB Bank has announced the termination of operations for 4 transaction offices, of which 3 transaction offices have stopped operating since November 9, including: Ba Dinh Transaction Office, Thang Long Branch, Hanoi; Go Cong Transaction Office (Tien Giang Branch) and Tan Quy Transaction Office (Tan Dinh Branch, Ho Chi Minh City).

Also in November, SCB officially terminated operations of Thuan An Transaction Office (Binh Duong Branch) from November 1.

Notably, in October alone, SCB almost simultaneously terminated operations at 11 transaction offices, including 4 transaction offices in Hanoi and 4 transaction offices in Ho Chi Minh City.

11 SCB transaction offices terminated operations in October, including:

Thanh Nhan Transaction Office (Hai Ba Trung Branch, Hanoi), Thanh Xuan Transaction Office (Hanoi Branch) from October 31; Ton Duc Thang Transaction Office (Hanoi Branch), Tay Cau Giay Transaction Office (Cau Giay Branch, Hanoi), Hung Loi Transaction Office (Can Tho Branch) and Tan Tao Transaction Office (Cho Lon Branch, Ho Chi Minh City) from October 26.

In addition, Tan Thanh Transaction Office (Vung Tau Branch) from October 24. Bien Hoa Transaction Office (Dong Nai Branch), Duc Hoa Transaction Office (Can Giuoc Branch, Long An) stopped operating from October 19.

District 11 transaction office (Tan Phu branch, Ho Chi Minh City) ceased operations from October 12. Le Van Sy transaction office (Phu Dong branch, Ho Chi Minh City) ceased operations from October 6.

Notably, SCB is gradually reducing its presence in the Hanoi market as up to 9 transaction offices in the capital have stopped operating since the end of September. Previously, on September 28, this bank terminated operations of 4 transaction offices in Hanoi.

According to statistics, from June 6, 2023 to now, SCB has stopped operating more than 130 transaction offices nationwide. Of which, there was a time when SCB closed up to 16 transaction offices in just one month.

Along with continuously terminating transaction points, this bank has also recently continuously adjusted the 24/7 fast money transfer limit via the Napas system.

SCB announced that the limit for 247 fast money transfer via Napas system will be reduced from 100 million VND to a maximum of 50 million VND/time/day for each customer from August 23. On September 12, SCB continued to reduce the maximum limit to only 10 million VND.

Most recently, SCB has increased the money transfer limit to a maximum of 50 million VND since November 11.
