The 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly will take place for 1 day, starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the National Assembly House, to review personnel work under the authority of the National Assembly.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution and laws, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly decided to convene the 8th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly to consider personnel matters under the authority of the National Assembly.
The session will take place over 1 day, starting at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at the National Assembly House, Hanoi.
Previously, on August 16, 2024, in Hanoi, the 13th Party Central Committee met to review and give opinions on personnel work.
At the meeting, the Party Central Committee decided to introduce personnel and give opinions for the Politburo to introduce personnel to complete the leadership of a number of state agencies for the 2021-2026 term according to regulations.
The National Assembly holds regular sessions twice a year. The National Assembly holds extraordinary sessions when requested by the President, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Prime Minister, or at least one-third of the total number of deputies.
The 15th National Assembly had 7 extraordinary sessions, of which 5 were held to consider and decide on high-level personnel.
According to the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, the National Assembly elects the leader of the State, the leader of the National Assembly, and the leaders of State power agencies.
At the same time, approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government.
